Cristiano Ronaldo’s son scores on debut for Pozuelo youth side

Cristiano Ronaldo’s genes are not to be wasted.

The Portuguese superstar’s son has scored on his debut for Pozuelo’s youth side.

Cristianinho, as some media outlets are calling him despite the fact it’s a real mouthful, recently signed for the Spanish fourth tier after opting not to pursue joining Real Madrid’s youth academy.

Apparently Ronaldo senior doesn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on his son; something that is more likely if he played for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The six-year-old’s career has got off to a good start as he channelled his dad’s goalscoring ability in Pozuelo’s 4-3 win over El Carrascal.

Let’s not get carried away though, he is only six after all.

Anyone who has seen the Ronaldo biopic or follows the man himself on social media will know he is a superbly dedicated and supportive father.

Here is competing with ‘Cristianinho’ in a free-kick game or sorts…

And who could forget the time Ronaldo was happy to act as ballboy for one of his son’s games?

Earlier this week Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic enrolled their sons in Man United’s youth team while Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique did the same at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy.

If ability truly is transmitted through genes then some of the world’s best are giving their sons a chance to grow into fine players in their own right.

For now though, let’s just keep enjoying the seniors.
