While the content may appear repetitive to an outsider, the English public took to the video like moths to a lamp.
Lee Satchell, unofficial YouTube spokesperson, said: “People are missing work to watch it. I know people who have seen it back to back, they can’t get enough.
“I was brought up on stories of Charlton and Moore. When you first saw that challenge, you just knew history was being made,” Satchell added.
While the English public are revelling in the non-stop replays, the Spanish press have been quick to attack Dier.
Leo Satchella, from the Spanish Press Association said: “Eric Dier is a poor man’s Busquets, I don’t care what that troll Sam Allardyce says, no need for that challenge. None whatsoever.”
