Dejan Lovren will require emergency surgery to have Lionel Messi removed from his back pocket.
The so-called GOAT was expected to run the show for Argentina against Croatia, but instead the Croats ran out deserved and comprehensive 3-0 winners.
And Messi spent the entire 90 minutes firmly lodged in the Liverpool defender’s pocket – with no sign of him throughout.
Croatian team doctor Lee Satchell illustrated the severity of the situation.
“Leo is really lodged in there, no wonder we barely saw him on the pitch,” he told us.
“It all started off as a bit of a joke, schoolboy bullying from Dejan if you will.
“But now it’s a bit more serious as Leo is claustrophobic and we can’t get him out.”
It’s not the first time Messi has gone missing at a World Cup either having found comfort in Bastian Schweinsteiger’s’ pocket in the 2014 final too.
