Pep Guardiola offered to switch the teams up during half-time of Arsenal v Man City because it was so one-sided.
Guardiola’s side went into half-time three goals to the good, just four days after blitzing Arsenal 3-0 in the EFL Cup.
Guardiola tried to get Arsene Wenger to mix the teams, in order to give the crowd something entertaining to watch.
Lee Satchell, an unofficial source who claimed to have overheard the conversation, explained: “Pep was adamant in switching it up.
“He said he was freezing and even he was bored with how one-sided it all was.
“Pep said he would take Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Danny Welbeck and give Arsenal Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Vincent Kompany.”
“He even offered them Ederson to play outfield and said City would go with ten men and a rush keeper.
“But Wenger wasn’t having it.
“He was convinced that none of the City players were better than the Arsenal lot.
“Pep kept pointing to the scoreboard but Wenger was just claiming he couldn’t see anything.
“Then he turned around, started playing with his zip and muttering ‘Konstantinos Mavropanos’ over and over.”
