Kevin De Bruyne will assist Theresa May with Brexit talks at the request of the Prime Minister.
The Man City midfielder is set to accompany May to Brussels for a dinner with Jean-Claude Juncker and ensure everything passes smoothly.
He’ll also be asked to help break down the stubborn exterior of Angela Merkel, given his previous experience with unlocking Germans from his time at Wolfsburg.
An unofficial source, Lee Satchell, explained: “Theresa was at her local Wetherspoons for Saturday steak club and she just so happened to catch Man City v Stoke.
“She couldn’t believe how good De Bruyne was at assisting with what, on the face of it, was a pretty tricky task.
“No matter whether it was a Dutch, French or Austrian defender De Bruyne negotiated a way through with ease.
"But it was his ability to get on with the German Leroy Sane that really impressed.
"After all, May's struggles with Merkel have been extensive and well documented.
"It's been like watching Jordan Henderson try to break down Bayern Munich's back four. Painful, dull and ridiculously one-sided.
"It helps that negotiations are taking place in De Bruyne's home country, so he can show May where the best Belgian fries are served.
"Last time she went someone tricked her and sent her to McDonald's, so she doesn't want a repeat of that.
"The only issue is Pep Guardiola. We're not sure how he's going to take losing his best player for two weeks."
