Jurgen Klopp will start himself in the middle of Liverpool’s defence after growing tired of watching Dejan Lovren.
Klopp, who starred for Mainz between 1990 and 2001, feels he has no other option after watching Lovren’s display against Sevilla.
He’ll now play for the first time in 16 years when Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield
An unofficial insider, Lee Satchell, said: “Even though he’s 50 he still knows he can do a better job than Dejan.
“No offence to the lad, because he puts it all on the line and he’s never slacking in training.
“But we genuinely had to check to make sure he didn’t accidentally have his right and left boots mixed up the other day.
“Jurgen has stuck with him for as long as he could, but he can’t shake the feeling that Brendan Rodgers signed him as a practical joke.
“Klopp’s not played in 16 years, so he’s a bit worried about picking up a knock.
“But he can’t be much worse than Daniel Sturridge, can he?
“And, after all, even at 50 Klopp is faster than Chris Wood and Sam Vokes combined, so he’s not that bothered about Burnley’s attack.”
