Roy Hodgson’s first act as Crystal Palace manager will be to get Christian Benteke taking corners.
Frank De Boer was sacked after four games as Palace manager after failing to get James Tomkins, Martin Kelly and co to play the ‘Ajax way’.
But Hodgson has a set-piece trick up his sleeve to get Palace scoring.
Lee Satchel, an unofficial source, said: “It’s all about getting in the mind of the opposition defence.
“Sure, Benteke is 6ft 3in and the only thing he’s good for is heading, but that’s exactly what the opposition want you to think.
“It’s an old school jedi mind trick Roy learned from Star Wars. Take your best aerial threat and get them on corners.
“They know exactly what they would want from a corner. It worked a treat with Harry Kane and England, so he doesn’t see what could possibly go wrong.
“Roy’s going to get rid of this three at the back nonsense as well.
“He’s going with a tried and tested 4-4-2. Paul Konchesky is coming in from Billericay Town to play left-back.
“Roy called up Joe Cole and Andriy Voronin but they must have changed their numbers because he couldn’t get through to them.
“But who cares. With Benteke on corners Palace are going to start flying.
“We’re 100% successful 50% of the time. Okay, maybe 40%.”
