Lee Satchell, who’s in charge of sorting Chelsea’s loanees out with places to stay in Vitesse, explained: “Antonio was on Twitter late last night when he stumbled across the tweet.

“Sure, he’s a triple Serie A wining manager, who lifted the Premier League in his first season, but he’s not going to ignore something like this.

“GaryEngland1971’s argument was clearly well researched and thought out. It had a profound impact on Antonio.

“We don’t know why more fans don’t chip in with their two pennies, especially when they’re as fluent as GaryEngland1971’s.

“Antonio will definitely be looking on Twitter for more fans’ opinions in the future. We think it’s the future of scouting.

“He’s already got excited about one that said ‘We shud sign this Jorge Mere lad. He’s wicked on Football Manager’ so you should expect some movement on that.

“It doesn’t matter if your profile picture is an egg. Every little helps. Especially in a game like football where there are so few opinions flying around.”
