Ronald McDonald is said to be ‘furious’ after an appearance at Man United v Real Madrid in Santa Clara led to comparisons with Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini had the chance to win the game in normal time but fluffed his lines from six-yards out, meaning United required a penalty shootout to beat Madrid.
McDonald walked out with both sets of players and shook hands with the teams, trending on Twitter when he embraced Fellaini.
But now, speaking through his unofficial PR Lee Satchell, McDonald has urged people not to compare him to the Belgium international.
McDonald said: “It’s an absolute joke. I’m really quite furious. My Twitter was blowing up last night.
“I’ve been working for 77 years and taken careful steps to maintain my image.
“Now everyone is likening me to that bloke. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t wander around the pitch like an elephant on roller blades.
“His second touch is always a tackle. I came up with the Big Mac, what’s he given to the world?
“He even tried to elbow me when I shook hands. I kept it very professional because I knew the cameras were on me.
“I’m going to have to cut my hair off now. There’s no way I’m walking around with people shouting ‘Marouane’ at me the whole time.”
