Liverpool have had a £100million bid accepted for the entire Southampton media team.
The deal will include ‘big’ Ben from the PR department, social media manager ‘top bins’ Tim and Jonny from the video department.
Liverpool were convinced to make the bid- a club record- after seeing Southampton’s unveiling of 36-year-old England Under-21 international goalkeeper Stuart Taylor.
Lee Satchell, who brokered the deal, said: “As soon as Jurgen [Klopp] saw the video he was straight on the phone to his scouting department.
“He couldn’t get enough of it. He sent it straight to the group WhatsApp. Jordan Henderson had to tell him that they’d already seen it. He was a day late.
“Southampton had no option but to accept the bid. They think Liverpool have gone completely mental.”
The bid for Southampton’s media team eclipses the deals that brought Mohamed Salah and Andy Carroll to Anfield.
Personal terms still need to be agreed with several members of the media team.
Rumour has it that they could be on the verge of collapse, with ‘top bin’ Tim wanting a box of fidget spinners included in any deal.
