Harry Redknapp will undergo one of the most extensive medicals in footballing history after offering John Terry £100,000-a-week to play in the Championship.
Redknapp is trying to convince Terry to join the likes of Clayton Donaldson and Paul Robinson at Championship stragglers Birmingham.
But the size of the contract on offer to the former England international has raised fears over Redknapp’s wellbeing.
Birmingham’s unofficial head of choreography Lee Satchell claimed: “At first we thought ‘Arry was messing about.
“He’s always playing practical jokes on the club’s owners. Calling them up at midnight, three or four in the morning, pretending to have signed players.
“The other day he gave them a bell in the middle of the night pretending to have signed Niko Kranjcar for £20million off Rangers.
“So when he text them saying he’d offered Terry £100,000-a-week everyone brushed it off as a joke.
“Then we thought he might have just put the comma in the wrong place- you know what he can be like with numbers.
“But it looks like he’s being deadly serious.
“Now the owners have insisted on Harry going through a medical. The full works. Physical and mental.
“There’s no way he’s going to pass.”
