Mohamed Salah was spotted apologising to Aymeric Laporte during Liverpool’s barnstorming 3-0 Champions League win over Manchester City.
The Egyptian superstar scored one goal and set up another during the quarter-final first-leg clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Liverpool were rampant in the first half, scoring all their goals within a half-hour window.
And eagle-eyed fans were quick to note that Salah ran up to Laporte with his hand out at the half-time whistle, saying: “I’m sorry.”
It’s not known why Anfield’s new favourite son offered the olive branch to his rival.
But some supporters joked that it was because Salah had given Laporte and his team-mates such a torrid time.

One wrote: “Did Mo Salah just apologise to Laporte for making him look stupid for 45 minutes?”
Another said: “Salah just apologised to Laporte for giving him the toughest 45 minutes of his life. What a man what a player.”
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will now be sweating over Salah’s fitness after the winger was forced off with a suspected groin injury in the second half.
