Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to shut down talk of David De Gea joining Real Madrid by backing Keylor Navas.
Manchester United have already turned down a £60million offer from Los Blancos for their star stopper.
And while Ronaldo, 32, admits De Gea is a great player, he suggested any speculation would be unfair to Navas.
He said: “Keylor Navas is Real Madrid’s goalkeeper.
“De Gea is a very good keeper but he is at United. They talk about 50,000 footballers every year and they are always the same.
“Of the players they talk about, maybe one or two will arrive and that’s it.”
Real have wanted De Gea for three years but this summer are determined to bring the former Atletico Madrid man back to the Spanish capital.
And they made their first move by privately tabling what would represent a world record fee for a goalkeeper.
Real believed their move for the 26-year-old De Gea would bring United to a deal.
The Old Trafford outfit, desperate to try and keep De Gea despite his wish to return home, rejected the opening gambit.
But the Spanish giants will not take no for an answer and will come back with a second offer to land the superstar keeper.
