There’s no doubting that Gianluigi Buffon is probably the GOAT goalkeeper.
The Juventus legend finally conceded a goal in the Champions League last night against Monaco, bringing to an end a run of 10 hours without conceding in Europe’s top club competition.
But it was what he did at the end of the game that won him more fans, if there wasn’t anyone left who thinks he’s a footballing deity, of course.
Buffon stayed behind inside the stadium once all his team-mates had gone into the changing rooms to celebrate with the fans, on his own.
The hashtag says it all: #legend.
Juve qualified for their second Champions League final in three seasons, where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
But the neutral’s are likely to be wishing Buffon all the best in keeping out Cristiano and co, with the Italian keeper having never won the competition before in his illustrious career.
