Barcelona linked with Arsenal target Massimiliano Allegri
Barcelona have made an offer for Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, according to Italian publication Premium Sport.
The Spanish giants are in the market for a new manager, with Luis Enrique set to leave the club at the end of the season.
This could spell the end of Arsenal’s interest in the Italian, with Allegri linked with the Gunners in recent weeks.
The 49-year-old has been rumoured to be a top candidate to replace Arsene Wenger, should he leave in the summer.
However, any interest they have in Allegri could be trumped by Barcelona, with reports in Italy claiming the Catalan club have already offered him a three year contract, worth €8 million per year.
Despite these rumours, the favourite for the Barcelona job is Enrique’s assistant coach Juan Carlos Unzue.
Sevilla’s Jorge Sampaoli and Athletic Bilbao’s Ernesto Valverde have also been linked with the role since Enrique announced his intention to leave.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly Arsenal’s top target for next season.
Arsenal fans have seemingly lost faith in Wenger in recent weeks.
The Gunners have lost four out of their last five Premier League games, and currently sit 19 points off leaders Chelsea.
They were also humiliated in the Champions League by Bayern Munich.
