Zinedine Zidane’s son sent off for headbutting opponent (VIDEO)

Like father, like son.

Despite his other-worldly ability and physics-defying technique, Zinedine Zidane is most known for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup Final.

Sure he won France a World Cup in 1998 and scored the greatest Champions League Final goal of all-time, but upon mention of Zizou everyone’s first thought is the great man embedding his skull into Materazzi’s ribcage on the grandest stage of them all.

Now his son has repeated the act.

Luca Zidane was dismissed during Real Madrid’s youth game with Atletico Madrid over the weekend after clashing heads with an opponent.

The video shows the aftermath and what could have been the incident in question but Zidane junior had squared up with several players during the break in the play.

The ‘blow’ wasn’t delivered with anywhere near the force of his old man but technique comes with experience. He’s showing good potential.

It was confirmed after the final whistle that the young goalkeeper had been dismissed for violent conduct, just as his father had nearly a decade previously.

Additionally, if you’ve got Zinedine Zidane’s talented genes why would you waste them by being a goalkeeper?
