Italy international reveals extraordinary reasons he left Napoli

There’s nothing new in a player leaving a club on a sour note.

But spare a thought for Italy international and current Torino forward Fabio Quagliarella who left Napoli for Juventus back in 2010 under pretty extraordinary circumstances.

I was forced to leave my hometown and Napoli sold me to Juventus. I had been falsely accused of being a Camorrist and of being a pedophile who was participating in orgies.

The 32-year-old was speaking at the trial of a Neapolitan postal policeman who is accused of stalking Quagliarella, as well as a number of high profile celebrities.

An anonymous letter sent to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed Quagliarella was partying with Camorra Mafia members and taking cocaine.
