The MLS has got a reputation as the place footballers go to end their career.
LA Galaxy aren’t doing much to shift that reputation, as they’re closing in on the signings of Ashley Cole, Nigel De Jong and Jelle Van Damme, according to the LA Times.
- AS Roma troll Ashley Cole on their official Twitter feed
- Howard Webb just made this extraordinary revelation about the World Cup final
- LA Galaxy are planning an ambitious double bid for two Man City old boys
Cole has taken to life in Roma like a brick to water, and has been bought out of his contract with the Serie A club.
Hatchet man De Jong, who is out of favour at AC Milan, could come in to provide protection for Steven Gerrard.
Not satisfied with singing two ageing pros the Galaxy are also reportedly preparing to bring
Jean-Claude Jelle Van Damme to the club.
The Belgian left back had a scintillating two year spell at Southampton, playing six times.
Galaxy can now boast of a squad containing Cole, Gerrard, De Jong, Robbie Keane and Giovani Dos Santos.
Shame it’s ten years too late.
