The transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet but we’ve already got a winner for the strangest move.
Not satisfied their annual raid of Borussia Dortmund, this time picking up Mats Hummels, and signing one of the most promising midfielders in world football, Renato Sanches, Bayern Munich are reportedly closing in on a deal for Vedran Corluka.
Wait, have we written that wrong? Let us double check that quickly.
Nope, this is actually happening.
We brought you the news a couple of weeks ago but we just thought it was a quiet time for the Croatian press and they couldn’t find a club to link Niko Kranjcar to when ‘Arry was managing Jordan.
But, according to Jutarnji Sport, Corluka will move to Bayern from Lokomotiv Moscow after Carlo Ancelotti gave his seal of approval to the transfer.
Maybe this is Ancelotti’s way of giving himself a bit of a challenge when it comes to winning the Bundesliga rather than tying it up with ten games to spare.
Or it could be a strange plan to get Harry Redknapp’s Spurs back four together again. Next up Alan Hutton and Michael Dawson.
