Steven Gerrard’s illustrious career looks like it’s at an end.
The former Liverpool star has been spending his twilight years (in the game) at American side LA Galaxy.
But they’ve gone and lost to the Colorado Rapids in the MLS Cup Play-Offs in the most English way ever.
Having drawn over two-legs, Gerrard’s side lost on penalties in Denver.
Many speculate this could be the former Liverpool star’s last season – after the midfielder sent a cryptic Instgram message.
And, if he does decide to call it a day, he’ll be most disappointed to go out – having lost the shoot-out to a former Manchester United goalkeeper.
Non other than Tim Howard…
The ex-Everton and Old Trafford No.1 saved two penalties – and watched on as Giovanni dos Santos sent his effort over the bar.
And to make matters worse – former England defender Ashley Cole was one of those who had a penalty saved by the American as the Rapids progress to the next round of the Play-Offs.
Not that the ex-Arsenal and Chelsea left-back has got an history in that regard
