Barack Obama is no longer the President of the United States and the world is a much sadder place.
The former POTUS has recently been pictured enjoying his new-found sense of freedom windsurfing with Richard Branson while the rest of the planet crumbles around him.
Obama remains an active player on social media after his two terms came to and end, and one extremely interesting pointer has come out of his Twitter activity.
The 55-year-old follows only one European football club on the platform.
Well it’s Bundesliga minnows SV Darmstadt, obviously.
Yes, the team currently rock bottom of the German top flight are the only European side to make the cut among the 631,000 accounts he follows.
Unsurprisingly, Darmstadt were quick to pick up on their new found publicity, offering the former leader of the free world a tour of their stadium:
In the video, German-born US international Terrence Boyd says: “We’ve heard that you follow us as the only European soccer club on Twitter.
“Now that you’ve got a little more time for yourself we’d like to invite you to a game of The Lillien at the Böllenfalltor. We’ve got the fitting jersey for you as well. So see you at the Bölle.”
Darmstadt have mustered just 12 points and three wins all season in the Bundesliga and are currently seven points adrift of safety.
