The Emirati police officer who posted a photo of Lionel Messi’s passport online has been sentenced to a month in prison.
A Dubai court ruled that the sergeant had breached the Barcelona forward’s privacy by posting his intimate details on Snapchat after taking the snap while on duty at passport control.

The photo went viral after Messi arrived in Dubai for the Global Soccer Awards.
The caption read: “This is Messi in Dubai… Now what to do? Burn the passport …or leave it there? Ok. I will leave it there.”
