Getting injured just before a major tournament is every professional footballer’s worst nightmare.
Unfortunately that is exactly what happened to goalkeepers Jack Butland and Rob Elliot.
Stoke stopper Butland will be out for months after fracturing his ankle in England’s 3-2 win against Germany.
Newcastle’s Elliot also had his Euro 2016 dreams destroyed when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Ireland’s 2-2 draw with Slovakia.
But Butland was quick to turn negatives into positives after undergoing surgery.
He offered Elliot a seat on his sofa to watch the dramas of Euro 2016 unfold.
That’s the spirit lads!
And it looks like neither will be watching the tournament on their own as Elliot replied offering to bring round a few cold ones.
Space for a couple more?
We’ll bring the crisps and dip.
