There’s something quite disconcerting about a grown man wearing a football kit in public.
But there’s still a massive market for shirt sales in modern times.
And it seems there is a correlation between the most world’s expensive players and the volume of shirts sold.
That’s because Paul Pogba, according to Sports Direct, is the most popular player in the Premier League in that regard.
Since moving back to Manchester United in the summer in a world record deal, Pogba has soared to the top of the shirt sales charts.
He sits first, ahead of United teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic in second.
Then come Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Philippe Coutinho.
In sixth is David De Gea, while Sadio Mane, Dimitri Payet, Eden Hazard and Marcus Rashford make up the rest of the top 10.
Interestingly, Payet is the only representative in the top 2o from outside the Premier League’s traditional ‘top six’ clubs.
