Believe it or not there are still records Lionel Messi is yet to break.
The most Ballon d’Or trophies in history? Check. Top goalscorer in La Liga history? Check. All-time leading Argentinean goalscorer? Check. We could go on but we know you haven’t got all day.
Now he’s added another honour to the list, becoming La Liga’s all-time top scorer at home.
The 29-year-old netted within three minutes of coming off the bench as Barcelona thrashed Deportivo 4-0 at the Nou Camp.
He had been suffering with a groin injury picked up against Atletico Madrid back in September, but came off the bench in the 55th minute.
While Luis Enrique and Barcelona will be delighted to see Messi back it’s not such good news for Man City.
Pep Guardiola takes his side to the Nou Camp to face his old side in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Fancy another stat? Messi has scored more Champions League hat-tricks than any other player in history.
Good luck with that Pep.
