A 26-year-old has celebrated Christmas early after winning over £220,000 with an incredible 20-fold accumulator at odds of a whopping 41,548/1.
The lucky punter stretched the bet from the midweek fixtures to Spurs coming from behind to beating Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
But perhaps the most incredible part of the bet was just how close it came to not winning – on four separate occasions.
The bet included Reading’s 3-2 victory over Blackburn, with the Royals scoring their winner in the 92nd minute.
The young punter also had Leeds to beat Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday to defeat Rotherham, which they both did – but in the 89th and 94th minutes respectively.
And to top it all off, the Suffolk-based bettor also had Brighton to beat Birmingham, and after being a goal behind, the Seagulls scored in the 82nd minute and 95th minute to keep the dream alive.
We can only imagine the scenes when Danny Rose scored Spurs’ winner against the Clarets on Sunday afternoon.
BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann said: “Christmas has certainly come early for our young customer who has won a life-changing amount of money for a fiver.
“What a journey it was with no less than four of his Championship selections scoring late winners on Saturday. Lady Luck was certainly shining on him and we have never seen fortune quite like it.”
Incredible indeed – well done that punter!
