Barcelona were subjected to one of their worst defeats in Champions League history at the hands of PSG on Tuesday night.
The Ligue 1 champions won 4-0 and with progression to the quarter-finals now severely unlikely, many Barca fans have been calling for Luis Enrique’s head.
And you’ll never guess who the La Liga giants are lining up to replace him…
Only Everton boss Ronald Koeman!
On the surface it seems a little odd that a team as prestigious as Barcelona would make a mid-table Premier League gaffer their prime target but it actually makes perfect sense.
The Dutchman played 264 games for Barcelona, winning four consecutive La Liga titles between 1990/91 and 1993/94.
And he’s proved his tactical nous as a manager in Holland, particularly with Ajax and PSV.
He also has experience managing in Spain with Valencia in the 2007/08 season.
The Toffees are currently 7th in the Premier League but are some way off the competitive top six with Man United seven points ahead.
Spurs gaffer Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the job but recently said that he was ‘happy’ in North London.
The lure of Barcelona may be too much for Koeman to resist.
He may fancy taking Romelu Lukaku with him as well…
