Ahmed Musa’s celebration left an Iceland player in a bloody mess

He scored Nigeria's first goal of the tournament and didn't stop there

Sometimes emotions get the better of you.

Ahmed Musa was pretty happy to score Nigeria’s first goal of the tournament with some sensational tekkers.

But he didn’t take into consideration any of the Iceland players once the net was bulging.

As you can see from that picture Iceland’s Ragnar Sigurdsson was left prone, while Musa is running off in jubilation.

To be fair, the Leicester man plucked the ball out of the air and punished the ball into the back of the net and it was utterly brilliant.

In doing so he also became the first Nigerian to score at multiple World Cups.

However, just after he smashed the ball in Musa’s knee smashed Sigurdsson in the back of the head, leaving him in a bloody mess.

You could almost hear the crunch as knee connected with skull and Sigurdsson did not look in a good way as he lay on the turf.

But in true hard-as-nails Icelandic spirit, the doctors wrapped his head up, wiped away the blood and he carried on.

Musa hardly even looked back to see the Iceland man on the floor.

But after brilliantly scoring your country’s first goal of the tournament, can you blame him?

Possibly.
